BIO

After graduating with my doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University in 1998, I moved to Boston, MA to complete a clinical internship at the Harvard Consortium and Brockton VA Hospital, where I learned how to work with couples and families who struggled with Substance Abuse & Trauma.

Afterwards, I returned back home to Texas and helped open and run an on-site Employee Assistance Program for a Fortune 500 company, providing individual counseling to employees and their family members, conducting motivational workshops and developing management training and team building seminars.

With that training and experience, I was able to open up my own practice in 2004, specializing in Couples Therapy, Executive Coaching, Trauma Processing, and Recovery work.

In the past, I have taught at The University of Texas in Austin, The University of Texas in San Antonio, and St. Edward's University. I have taught classes on Marriage and Family Systems, Counseling Theories, Counseling Skills and Techniques, and Adult and Child Development in addition to practicums at the graduate level.

In my practice, I have been known to use Music, Literature, and Film as a powerful way to understand and connect with my clients. Over the years, I have become enlightened and humbled by my clients' strength and courage as they share their favorite authors and artists' work.
